Welcome to openNorth, the opensource Northworld project

Check out the the Youtube video:

Northworld is a sci-fi/fantasy world created by author David Drake. It is a trilogy of books I had the pleasure of reading when I was about 14 on a camping trip with my buddy Kevin and his family in northern British Columbia, Canada. We drank beers with his old man, explored, went fishing, played lots of Tetris on his Gameboy, and I got to read an excellent novel... Northworld. It was also right around that time that I played a little AD&D (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons) here and there. Naturally, being a computer nerd, I came up with the idea of making an RPG (Role Playing Game) based on the ideas, characters, and places of Northworld and the AD&D 2nd edition game system for rules. David Drake is not involved with the development but is aware of the project and has given me permission to use his books as a basis for the game.

I'm an avid David Drake fan and was looking to repurchase Northworld. I came upon your page after googling around a bit. Great idea for a game. I've bookmarked the page and will be keeping up to date. Good luck.
